OUR SOUND. OUR ROOTS.

Where the rhythm was born

Every genre we play carries a story. From Caribbean coasts to New York barrios, these are the sounds that shaped us.

01

Salsa

Born in New York City, USA

Salsa took shape in the 1960s and 70s in New York's Latino barrios, where Cuban son, mambo, and Puerto Rican rhythms met jazz. The Fania Records era turned it into the sound of a generation.

02

Merengue

Born in the Dominican Republic

Merengue emerged in the Dominican countryside in the 19th century and became the national music and dance. Its fast two-step beat, driven by the güira and tambora, fills any dance floor instantly.

03

Cumbia

Born on the Caribbean coast of Colombia

Cumbia was born from the meeting of Indigenous, African, and Spanish cultures on Colombia's Caribbean coast. Its hypnotic drum patterns and flutes spread across all of Latin America.

04

Bachata

Born in the Dominican Republic

Bachata grew in the bars and streets of Santo Domingo in the early 20th century. Once called 'music of bitterness', its romantic guitar melodies are now loved around the world.

05

Latin Pop

Born across Latin America and the USA

Latin pop blends traditional rhythms with modern pop, rock, and urban sounds. From the 1980s onward it crossed every border and turned Latin music into a global language.

06

Ballads

Born in the romantic radio of Latin America

The Latin ballad grew from the festival stages of Mexico, Argentina and Spain in the 1960s, where piano, strings and a single dramatic voice carried the whole song. It is the slow dance at every party, the moment the whole room sings together.

07

Country

Born in the Southern United States

Country grew from Appalachian folk, blues and Western swing in the American South and found its capital in Nashville. Its honest storytelling and steel guitar cross easily onto Latin stages: the same heartache with a different accent.

08

Reggaeton

Born in Panama and Puerto Rico

Reggaeton was born when Panama's reggae en español met Puerto Rico's hip-hop and DJ battles in the 1990s. The dembow riddim turned it into the sound of the club, and it now runs the dance floor worldwide.

09

Reggae

Born in Kingston, Jamaica

Reggae rose out of ska and rocksteady in late-1960s Kingston, carrying Rastafari imagery and a social message around the world. Its laid-back one-drop groove is the perfect cool-down between songs.
